  • DJ Deep has given his label a rebrand, removing the word "House" from its title. The change comes ten years after Deep, real name Cyril Etienne, launched Deeply Rooted House. Though he remains a house connoisseur, the Parisian's DJ sets have focused more on hard-edged techno in recent times. "We renamed the label Deeply Rooted to make sure it's not locked into one style of music," Etienne told RA. "We want to embrace the nice techno energy we've felt through a few demos that have been sent to us by young talent." He added: "Deeply Rooted is, and has always been, a personal label, so the music I release is what feels right to me in the moment. I always have in mind the roots, the essence, and the spirit of the house and techno I love so much." The first record on the renamed label is a self-titled EP from Dax J, a co-founder of London techno label EarToGround who launched his own Monnom Black imprint back in July. The four-track 12-inch will see release in September. Tracklist 01. D1 02. Something In The Woods 03. Angel Dust 04. Stolen Glory Deeply Rooted will release Dax J in September 2013.
