- The UK drum & bass label will release its first compilation later this month.
Subtitles Music will release Sine Language on September 23rd.
The label was founded over a decade ago by Teebee and K, with the latter leaving Teebee to manage it on his own in 2002. Since then it's focused largely on the harder-edged side of drum & bass influenced by techstep and neurofunk, from producers like Break, Phace, Noisia, Commix and others. Sine Language will be its first compilation, after a few various artists EPs celebrating milestones like the 50th and 70th releases. Subtitles had gone relatively quiet over the past year, with just a handful of EPs in 2013, but the compilation is said to mark a return in earnest after Teebee finished his collaborative All Or Nothing LP with Calyx.
The 25-track collection rounds up tracks from most of the label regulars, including Teebee himself, drumfunk producer Fanu, Ulterior Motive, Break, Stealth and Xtra. Ed Rush makes a relatively rare solo appearance, while Narratives Music founders Blocks & Escher get a spot, as does more experimental artist ASC, while K makes a return as Polar. The album will see a digital release as a well as a four-LP vinyl edition featuring eight selected tracks.
