  • Mr. G has an EP called The Old Miami on the way for Running Back. Though the release date is as yet unknown, the story behind the record—and its status as a Running Back release, despite not carrying the label's logo or a sequential catalog number—is in plain view on the website of the label's distributor, Clone. Running Back boss Gerd Janson and Ben UFO were playing a back-to-back set at Need I Say More, Visionquest's daytime afterparty at the Old Miami at this year's Movement festival in Detroit. The producer born Colin McBean wasn't on the lineup, but he was in attendance, and the back-to-back struck enough of a chord that he penned a pair of tracks inspired by the experience. Expect "heavy bass, mean percussion"—two Mr. G staples—with some "walkie-talkie voices" thrown in for good measure. Tracklist A1 Ben & Gerd (Killin It M Day) B1 TV (Extra Sauce) The Old Miami is forthcoming on Running Back.
