The UK club brand's stateside branch will launch over Halloween weekend.
The long-mooted Sankeys branch in New York will open on Thursday, October 31st.
Located on 29 West 36th Street in Manhattan, the two-room club will be fitted with a Void Incubus sound system. It also boasts "the world’s first hydraulic LED Grid Matrix system," according to a press release. The news follows the recent closure of the Sankeys club in its home town of Manchester, though the franchise still exists in Ibiza, where the summer party season has just come to an end.
Sankeys chief David Vincent said the club had been three years in the making, though the concept's roots stretch back much further. "I have always wanted to live and open a club in my favourite city in the world since I went to Vinyl to see Danny Tenaglia in the early 2000s," he said. "If we can achieve even half what the great clubs like Sound Factory, Paradise Garage and Tunnel did for the city then I will be more than happy."
Sankeys NYC will open on Thursday, October 31st, with a Halloween-themed party featuring Reboot, No Regular Play and My Favorite Robot. The opening weekend continues on Friday, November 1st, with Slow Hands billed alongside Fur Coat, Amirali and Tanner Ross. That will be followed on the 2nd by a bash headlined by DJ Sneak.
