- The experimental house producer's second album is due out in February on his own Scissor & Thread label.
Details of Francis Harris's second album, Minutes Of Sleep, have been revealed.
The LP tackles subjects like "memory, loss and profound grief," according to a press release, themes that were also explored in Harris's 2012 debut Leland, which was written shortly after the death of his father. Minutes Of Sleep features three guest musicians who also appeared on Leland—vocalist Gry Bagøien, trumpeter Greg Paulus (of No Regular Play) and cellist Emil Abramyan—as well as pianist Le´ah Lazonick, Brendan Golle on keys and Gabe Hedrick on guitar.
The album will be released through Harris's own Scissor & Thread label digitally and on double-vinyl—the latter features a bonus remix of "Dangerdream" by DJ Sprinkles, AKA Terre Thaemlitz, titled "How Che Guevara's Death and Bob Dylan's Life Militarized Brigate Rosse." Harris and Thaemlitz have a close working relationship: the pair are currently in the midst of a run of three joint DJ dates in the US, and Harris recently interviewed the outspoken artist for the fabric blog.
