Blackest Ever Black has unearthed early experiments from Stefan Jaworzyn.
A writer and an artist, Jaworzyn has had a colourful musical history. He was a member of William Bennet's seminal noise rock band Whitehouse in the '80s and early '90s, and he also founded the experimental group Skullflower around the same time. He was involved with a number of other musical projects in that time as well, not least of which was Shock Records (a home to Coil and The Dead C among others), but his musical output had gone quiet up until this year, when he revived Shock to release new solo material as well as a collection of work from his archives.
The music on Drained Of Connotation is taken from tapes recorded in 1982 at his Cardiff home using synths and a drum machine. The music is described in a press release as "driving, faintly sociopathic and supremely zoned." The digital version will also come with a bonus noise piece called 'Why Must We Rot," recorded with different equipment from the rest of the batch.
