- Paris/Berlin: 20 Years Of Underground Techno will feature tracks from Regis, Ancient Methods and more.
Fondation Sonore will release a soundtrack to Amélie Ravalec's documentary Paris/Berlin: 20 Years Of Underground Techno, due out on March 3rd.
The film, which made the international screening rounds throughout 2012 and 2013, looks at the history of the techno scenes in both the French and German capitals, highlighting players who have helped to keep the scene underground-minded throughout the genre's evolution. The soundtrack album, which will be released as a double LP, collects harder-edged tracks from Ancient Methods, Regis, Adam X, Kareem and others. The vintage of the tunes goes as far back to 1999 (Regis' "Baptism"), while others, like Makaton's "Coup De Grace" and Ancient Method's "Fourth Method," are more recent. The compilation also includes one exclusive new tune—DnA's "Unknown," which is actually a collaboration between director Ravalec and London producer Dax J. You can check clips of the soundtrack here or below.
