- The LA producer formerly known as Morri$ will release his first mixtape later this month.
P. Morris will release his first mixtape, Debut, on February 25th.
LA-based Philesciono Canty, who used to go by the name Morri$, is a Fade To Mind and Night Slugs associate known for his hip-hop influenced take on the sound (which "fetishizes the holographic allure of southern rap beats" according to our review of the Night Slugs compilation from last year). He's also a member of the Bear Club Music Group, the American label that will release Debut. The new release shows off a typically ethereal take on hip-hop, moving through moods over 30 minutes and also including a flip of Justin Bieber's "Hold Tight," which you can hear a slightly different version of here. You can also stream closer "Mood Swing II" over at the BandCamp pre-order page, plus a grip of other material at his SoundCloud profile.
