- Resident Advisor's long-running Machine Love series will enter the live realm at April's London Electronic Music Event. Machine Love takes readers inside the studios of some of the most celebrated producers in underground electronic music, giving artists the space to speak freely about their craft while showing off some of their favorite tools. With more and more producers bringing their productions on the road for sets that merge studio work and performance, RA saw an opportunity to take Machine Love into the live space. Instead of seeking out producers where they hole up to record tracks, Machine Love Live finds them and their kit onstage and plugged into the soundsystem, with interviews and live demonstrations conducted in front of audiences at festivals and conferences worldwide. The series will debut at London Electronic Music Event 2014 this April, with a pair of hardware enthusiasts who are making some of the most blistering dance music around right now: Karenn, AKA Blawan and Pariah. As a duo, they've released original music through their own Works The Long Nights and Warp's Bleep sublabel and remixed artists like Jon Hopkins. They also tour extensively with an impressive hardware rig, which they'll have on hand for Machine Love Live. In conversation with RA tech editor Jordan Rothlein, Karenn will show and tell the particulars of one of the fiercest live shows in techno.
