Diplo's label will take its infamous events all over the US and Canada this summer.
Mad Decent has announced its 2014 Block Parties, taking the franchise through North America from late July to September.
The (typically outdoor) Mad Decent parties, which show off Diplo's label roster and a motley crew of friends and associates, are known for their rowdy atmospheres and wild audiences—so much so that the Block Party hasn't returned to Chicago since the police shut it down in 2012. It started in Philadelphia a few years ago and has steadily grown since, and 2014 is its biggest year yet, winding through 19 cities with a huge revolving door lineup.
Among the biggest names are reunited southern rap duo Outkast, Fatboy Slim, Action Bronson, A$AP Ferg, Cashmere Cat, RL Grime, Kaytranada, DJ Snake, Dan Deacon, Flosstradamus and of course Diplo himself. Mad Decent-signed rapper Riff Raff, Djemba Djemba, Major Lazer's Jillionare, El-P and Killer Mike's Run The Jewels and Sleigh Bells make up some of the other highlights.
The tour starts in Fort Lauderdale on July 26th, and for the next two months will run through Atlanta, DC, Norfolk, Philly, Brooklyn, Boston, Detroit, Las Vegas, Denver, Nashville, New Orleans and two dates in Texas—Dallas and New Braunfels. From there it'll hit Phoenix, LA, San Diego, Berkeley and Eugene, with Canadian stops in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver, where the tour will end on September 21st.
