  • The Moog modular system made famous by Keith Emerson is coming back to the market. The project was originally floated this April 1st, but as it turns out, it was no joke—the synth maker has spent the last three years figuring out how to bring back one of the most hulking synths imaginable, and they showed it off at last weekend's Moogfest in Asheville, North Carolina. The original, made famous by the Emerson, Lake & Palmer keyboardist, boasted 81 modules, and you'll find all of them on this new version, with everything hand-built as it would have been in 1969. (They used documentation from the original system as a roadmap.) And for a nice aesthetic touch, the front panels are made from photo-etched aluminium. There's no price or release date yet, but the company's news brief lists a number you can call for more information. The Emerson Moog Modular System is coming soon from Moog Music.
