  • Wolfgang Voigt has two new releases on the way: an album called Rückverzauberung 9: Musik Für Kulturinstitutionen and a 12-inch of polka-inspired techno. Both records are being released to coincide with Voigt's appearance at an exhibition called Doofe Musik, Lieder zum Träumen, Betäuben und Vergessen, (which means "Dumb music, songs for dreaming, numbing and forgetting,") taking place at Berlin's Haus Der Kulturen next month. Rückverzauberung 9: Musik Für Kulturinstitutionen will be released by Profan on CD in a limited run of 500. It was recorded as part of Voigt's sound installation for the festival, and sees him in ambient mode. The second release is a two-track EP called Polkatrax 1, which will be the first release on the Polkatrax label. It's a project that dates back to Voigt's 1996 Polka Trax album for Warp as Mike Ink, and it sees the German fusing "polka's oom-pah-pah beat with the bang-bang of the straight techno bass drum in a completely non-ironical way." At Haus Der Kulturen he'll play a live computer set of his polka techno. Tracklist Rückverzauberung 9: 01. Rückverzauberung 9.1 02. Rückverzauberung 9.2 03. Rückverzauberung 9.3 04. Rückverzauberung 9.4 05. Rückverzauberung 9.5 Polka Trax: 01. Polkatrax 1.1 02. Polkatrax 1.2 Polkatrax will release Polkatrax 1 on May 5th, 2014. Rückverzauberung 9: Musik Für Kulturinstitutionen will follow via Profan on July 7th.
