The bimonthly outlet will see the Canadian producer share unreleased songs by his favourite overlooked artists for free.
Ryan Hemsworth has launched a new platform called Secret Songs.
Hemsworth himself describes Secret Songs as not "a label [or] a blog, just an outlet I can use to share music I love and believe in directly with people who want to discover something new. It's about two things: inclusion and discovery. For those curious but who might not have the connections to find the weirder, lesser-known artists." He goes on to say that he wants to get across what he feels like when "a producer emails [him] a zip of 20 unreleased songs... that are all amazing."
Secret Songs will offer a new release every two weeks, with free unlimited downloads for each track. The series is meant to showcase artists who may be overlooked or underrated for any reason, or simply have not received the attention that Hemsworth thinks they deserve. The first one, "You're Cute," comes from Edmonton's Tennyson, and you can stream and download it below.
The Toronto-based hip-hop producer has had quite a rise since we profiled him for a Breaking Through feature back in 2012, releasing his debut album, touring regularly and producing for a number of singers and rappers.
