  • Pittsburgh Track Authority will take over every third Saturday at Hot Mass starting this weekend. Launched in 2012, Hot Mass is a collective effort to establish a viable afterhours party in Pittsburgh. With roots in the city's gay scene, it takes place every Saturday at Club Pittsburgh—an otherwise men-only bathhouse—starting around midnight and going until the wee hours of the morning. Honcho is among its notable nights, bringing the likes of Prosumer and Mr. Ties recently. The first PTA Hot Mass event will happen this Saturday, May 17th, featuring the Detroit-style sounds of New Zealander Recloose (who will also be making his debut in PIttsburgh). Hot Mass has also announced another residency, this time with Cured's Jarrett Tebbets and Jason Pascuzzi. It'll happen every fourth Saturday, and according to Hot Mass's Aaron Clark, it's been long in the works from venue manager John McMarlin and is inspired by the Paradise Garage—and as such, it'll have more of an emphasis on disco. The first one will happen on May 31st with Chicago's Jamie 3:26. Synth whiz Tom Noble and Chicago crate-digger Zernell will feature in June and July, respectively.
