  • UK techno imprint Cosmic Records is preparing for a relaunch. Cosmic was founded in 1993 by Sheree Rashit and Steve Bicknell as something of a label arm to the pair's now-legendary party, Lost. Just about all of Bicknell's original tracks found a home on Cosmic, and other releases came from like-minded purveyors of lean, tough techno such as Ø [Phase], Spirit (AKA The 65D Mavericks) and Mist (AKA Max Duley). After issuing more than 30 records, Bicknell and Rashit put the label on hold in 2005, and nine years later, they'll be picking up where they left off. According to a Juno Plus interview with Rashit, a new EP from Bicknell, Lost Recordings 8: Transcendence, his first in years, will mark Cosmic's rebirth. As the name might imply, it's the eighth part in a series of records on Cosmic that began in 1996, and like the previous ones, it's comprised of all untitled tracks. The EP, with a Tunjo figure (a votive object said to allow spiritual transcendence) depicted in its artwork, will drop at the end of the month. Rashit says the label will still be vinyl-only, and there will "definitely" be more to come from Bicknell. Tracklist A1 Untitled A2 Untitled B1 Untitled B2 Untitled Cosmic Records will release Lost Recordings 8: Transcendence on July 28th.
