Lost Midas will put out his debut album on July 28th.
Jason Trikakis, a Boston-hailing LA resident and former drummer, first debuted last year with an EP of chilled-out hip-hop for long-running UK label Tru Thoughts. He followed it up with a handful of other releases signalling a move into warmer, disco-oriented territory, and now he's collected highlights from those releases, along with newer tracks, for his first full-length, Off The Course. Meant to be a "sonic guided tour" of LA through Trikakis' own emotional and sometimes turbulent experience with moving there, the album veers from sunny vintage hip-hop to more ethereal material (like the Drive-inspired "Tick Tock Tick"). Vocalists Audris and Taylor O'Donnell appear on the record, as well as Trikakis's brother NüTrik.
