- The New Zealand producer has started his own label, with the first release of 'glowing keys and murky Tokyo field recordings' out next month.
Ryan Quinlivan, AKA RQ, will drop the first EP on his new Dawn label on July 28th.
The Auckland-based producer has only a humble discography so far—namely, an album of between-genres bass music on Terrain and a more ambient EP, Memory Fields, for ASC's Auxiliary label. He's remained a close associate of the latter producer, and has also released a track on Samurai subsidiary Horo, whose atmospheric and expansive sound is a good analogue for Quinlivan's own. The first drop Sound Of Dawn consists of three new RQ originals —"glowing keys and murky Tokyo field recordings" according to the press release—along with a remix from Belgian producer Heden.
