- The hard-to-pronounce Swedish duo will release Linear S Decoded in August.
SHXCXCHCXSH have unveiled their second full-length, Linear S Decoded, due out on Avian on August 11th.
Since debuting in 2012, the Swedish duo have taken delight in cryptic branding, from their impossible-to-say name to their gibberish song titles. That will change with Linear S Decoded, on which the group play "the language game" (in their words) for the first time. (Though with track titles like "The Repelling Of The Quantitative Invasion" and "The Hmming Raverie," they seem intent on keeping things obtuse.)
It seems like their hard-hitting techno sound, which was described as as "like looking through a greyscale kaleidoscope, dynamic and ever-shifting" in our review of last year's STRGTHS, has also turned over a new leaf. The press releases promises that Linear S Decoded "reveal[s] the more melodic, almost optimistic, elements that had previously remained in the shadows of the productions until now."
