- The Brazilian producer's latest album of "richly orchestrated club tracks" lands on Kompakt this September.
Gui Boratto's latest album, Abaporu, is set for release this September on Kompakt.
The Brazilian producer has been a mainstay of the Cologne label since his 2007 debut full-length Chromophobia, and he's long brought his own twist to Kompakt's pop-techno sound. Abaporu, Boratto's fourth LP, calls particular attention to the combination of influences at the heart of his sound: the album's title and cover are "an inspired twist" on the famous modernist painting of the same name by Tarsilo Do Amaral. To that end, Abaporu explores a space "where European and indigenous influences would collide in the most exciting manner." The album's double-vinyl release features eight tracks, while the CD comes in at 13, including the singles "Take Control" and "Too Late."
