- Weaving, out in September, will be the British artist and Bleep43 promoter's debut album.
Jo Johnson will release her first album on September 1st.
Johnson is probably most associated with her role in organizing long-running London club night (and label) Bleep43, and she also had a tenure as guitarist for punk band Huggy Bear. Weaving is her most substantial solo release yet, and it lands on Seattle experimental outpost Further Records. A mostly ambient, synth-heavy LP of modern classical compositions, the label compares the record's five tracks to Eno & Budd, Arvo Pärt and Alice Coltrane, but also promises "a playful, DIY sense of adventure." Though the vinyl isn't out until later this fall, you can stream the entire album over at the label's Soundcloud (and below).
