The Kitchen's Synth Nights will host a performance by Laurel Halo on Tuesday, September 9th.
Halo’s performances incorporate an array of hardware and software instruments for a live set that layers abstract rhythms and thick ambient textures. Her tracks "Melt" and "Wow" are set to appear on the Hyperdub 10.3 compilation, due out September 22nd.
The New York Times reports that she’ll be sharing new work at the September 9th event, which follows previous Synth Nights appearances by electronic music pioneers Laurie Anderson, Ben Vida, Oneohtrix Point Never and more. The series builds off of The Kitchen’s historic electronic music program, which launched in 1971 with weekly Monday night performances.
