  • Container will play two shows in Canada on August 21st and 22nd. Providence's Ren Schofield became an unexpected favourite of the techno world when he released his first LP for Spectrum Spools back in 2011 (and its well-received 2012 follow-up), channeling his more noisy tendencies into an unhinged brand of dance music. He became a de facto leader in what's been called the technoise movement, and he's released for labels like Morphine and Liberation Technologies since. Now, on the eve of an upcoming world tour, Schofield will make two stops in Canada. First up is a gig at Montreal's La Vitrola on August 21st, where he'll appear alongside locals Hobo Cubes and Marie Davidson. The next evening he'll hit Bambi's in Toronto for SURVIVAL CLUB, where he's supported by DJs Kontravoid and Mikey Apples. He'll play live at both shows. Check out a recent Container mix for MoMA's PS1 Warm Up series below.
