He'll hit Brooklyn and LA next weekend, and Chicago next month.
Function has a few US dates coming up.
The NYC-bred, Berlin-based techno favorite, real name Dave Sumner, has been busy lately with the relaunch of his label Infrastructure New York, which he now runs alongside Ed Davenport. He's also collaborated with Vatican Shadow on an album, Games Have Rules, that's due out later this month. In fact, the first among Function's next few stateside appearances, in Brooklyn next Friday the 19th, is a live/DJ set with Vatican Shadow in support of the LP. That is part of the next Bunker event at Output and will happen in the Panther Room, while Output itself will feature a night-long Modern Love showcase with Andy Stott, Miles Whittaker and Sean Canty (and their respective collaborations, Millie & Andrea and Demdike Stare).
Function and Vatican Shadow are also both billed at Mount Analog's Nuit Noire party in Los Angeles the following Saturday evening, along with Shifted, Alessandro Cortini, Dual Action and Josh Eustis. Then, after a return to Europe, Function will cross the pond and touch down again at Chicago's Smart Bar for another Oktave night on Saturday, October 11th. This one will celebrate the party's five-year anniversary, with founder and resident Jeff Derringer again handling support duties.
Tickets to see Function at all three of these US shows—in Brooklyn, LA and Chicago—are available on RA.
