The device allows numerous analogue and digital devices to be synced and controlled by one source.
Roland has a new multi-format sync for computers and electronic instruments on the way.
The sync has been called the SBX-1. It allows simultaneous conversion between MIDI, DIN SYNC and USB/MIDI, and the ability to control external devises with the SBX-1 as the master sync source. The SBX-1's ability to synchronise computers and an array of analogue and digital equipment will likely make it a handy tool for live performers and producers working in the studio. Check out this PDF for some examples of how it might be utilised. There's no word on the exact price or release date yet.
