- The Seattle producer will drop his debut full-length on the Portland label next month.
DJAO will release a self-titled LP on October 28th.
Alex Osuch's first album-length effort follows EPs for Hush Hush and Dropping Gems, the Portland label that will also handle his debut album (and is home to Ghost Feet and Natasha Kmeto, among others). DJAO fleshes out the ruminative and often pastoral sound of those EPs, jumping from ambient-leaning material to more rhythmic tracks influenced by footwork (the press release calls it a "serene, often ethereal journey.") It's also Osuch's first release to really put emphasis on his vocals, both in the foreground and background, and it also features guitar playing from Zuri Biringer.
As usual for Dropping Gems, DJAO will come on cassette and digital format. You can stream "Depressing Jog Ends Well" below, and if you're in Seattle for Decibel festival next week, you can catch Osuch playing the RA showcase.
