- The trio will release an LP together on Ibadan in December.
Jerome Sydenham, AYBEE and Ron Trent have come together as S.A.T.
The collaborative project between the three artists started as "a simple dinner in Berlin," which led to a studio session, which eventually became an album. Sydenham and Trent are both venerable figures in American house music history—the former as the head of decades-old Ibadan Records, which will release S.A.T., and the latter as the founder of Prescription and a noted DJ and producer in his own right. The younger AYBEE was discovered in 2001 by Trent, and has since gone to start the Deepblak imprint and establish his own heady, spiritual sound over releases on Further and Underground Quality. The press release for the LP describes its mood as "loose and organic," recorded over three weeks in Sydenham's studio. Check out clips below.
