slinkyThe huge Slinky event set to be hosted outdoors at Davies Park has been moved. The event will now take place at The Tivoli Theatre from midday until 2:00am. A large funky house stage will be setup outdoors under a marquee and the Slinky trance, hardtrance and hardhouse stage will take over the air-conditioned main room with the Liquid Bass Stage in the cocktail bar.

As there is a fairly limited capacity now, in comparison to the sizable outdoor area first planned some changes are being made and revised details, including a cut on the line-up will be available shortly. The reason for the move...
"The Slinky In The Park event that was to be held outdoors at Davies Park has just been hit by that ever increasing hurdle of the spiraling costs of Public Liability insurance.

With Public Liability at the crazy and increasing levels they are currently (post Sept 11, post The Big Day Out drama, post the HIH collapse) and now the Bali Nightclub Bombing and our resplendent prime minister putting his foot in his mouth & making Aust a target the insurance prices are going thru the roof.

Choosing between upping the cover charge a lot and just moving the event we elected to move it.
"
The move is an understandable one and should still see the major acts (Jody Wisternoff, Rachel Auburn, The Disco Brothers, DJ Carl Kennedy, Infusion etc) take on this impressive New Years Day event.
