  • Dope Jams duo Slow To Speak will host their seventh annual Halloween costume ball at their shop in upstate New York on Saturday, October 25th. The famed record shop relocated last year from its longtime Brooklyn location to a small town called Oak Hill, three hours north of the city. Since re-opening, Slow To Speak—the duo of Paul Nickerson and Francis Englehardt, and the Dope Jams masterminds—have hosted a number of parties in their upstate location, and they're back this month for their "annual Dionysian jubilee." Costumes are strongly encouraged, say the store managers ("you will be met with considerable disdain if you dare set foot on sacred ground without sufficiently daft attire"), and they'll be joined by fellow selector Johnny Romero for the occasion.
