  • Pioneer has a new digital deck on the way this month. Dubbed the XDJ-1000, it boasts Pioneer's iconic jogwheel and otherwise looks a whole lot like something out of the industry-standard CDJ line. There's one major difference, though: as the name implies, it won't take CDs. Music plays solely off of USBs and all of the usual track-selection functionality allowed by the company's rekordbox music management software. Though it's lost its CD deck, it's gained a touch screen, which lets users search for music by pulling up a QWERTY keyboard. The streamlined music input also seems to have translated into a lower price point compared to their pricier cousins in the CDJ line.     Pioneer will release the XDJ-1000 in November 2014 for an estimated retail price of €999.
