- The Amsterdam label will re-release six retrospective 12-inches they originally issued in 2005 and 2006.
Rush Hour will look back on the career of Detroit techno artist Kenny Larkin once again, repressing six out-of-print EPs they first released in the mid-2000s.
The Motor City second waver's '90s productions were issued under different aliases on seminal imprints like Plus 8, Transmat, Warp and R&S. The Amsterdam label felt the producer's prolific output was worthy of the retrospective treatment, issuing six 12-inches and a CD compilation in partnership with Larkin's Art Of Dance label in the middle of the last decade.
The first three reissues, A-C, are landing on January 19th, with D-F set to drop sometime in 2015. A focuses on Larkin's material under the POD alias, moody electro originally released on Belgian Buzz in 1992. B culls highlights from Larkin's 1994 album for Warp, Azimuth, and C gathers cuts from the Metaphor LP on R&S in 1995.
Later in 2015, D-F will be revived. D and E focus on Larkin's Dark Comedy persona while F gathers material released on Art Of Dance. The current LA resident (and sometime standup comedian) remains quite active, with gigs in Turkey, Israel and Paris planned for the next couple of months.
Steve Rachmad recently mixed up tracks from throughout Larkin's career in celebration of the reissues. Check out the mix below.
