- The American label will release Insides in March.
Fort Romeau will drop a new full-length, Insides, on March 31st.
Londoner Mike Greene first appeared back in 2012 with the disco-inspired Kingdoms on 100% Silk. He's since let out a trickle of EPs on Ghostly International and its subsidiary Spectral Sound, with each showing off a slightly more polished production style. He's an adherent of "slow listening," the idea that "careful attention and focus" leads to a deeper relationship with music. That patient policy, along with his experience playing extended, slow-burning club sets over the years, is the foundation of Insides.
"Playing in those clubs definitely had an affect on how I approach composition and pacing," he says. "I want to allow things to breathe and develop gradually over longer track lengths, rather than cram everything into four or five minutes."
According to the label, the LP's sounds were also informed by his crate-digging for those same DJ sets, including early electronic music, soul and kosmische.
