FKA twigs, Merzbow and PC Music will all take part in the May program.
RBMA Festival will return to New York for a month of live performances, workshops and more starting May 1st.
Highlights include an Electronic Africa party that features DJ Spoko and the New York debut of shangaan electro star Nozinja. New Orleans bounce rapper Sissy Nobby will headline a GHE20G0TH1K party—the first since the series officially ended last year—the next night at the Brooklyn Bazaar in Williamsburg, leading up to a May 3rd performance of Kid Millions' "composition for 20 performers" at the Beaux Arts Court in Prospect Park.
Following talks by Lamonte Young and A$AP Rocky on the 6th and 7th, respectively, PC Music and SOPHIE will unveil their site-specific "Pop Cube" performance at Bric House in Downtown Brooklyn. The 13th will see a number of extreme music's most recognizable names playing together under one roof, with sets from Merzbow, Genesis P-Orridge and Aaron Dilloway (performing Psychic TV's Electric Newspapers for the first time), Ron Morelli, Pharmakon and more. The Tri Angle showcase on the 15th will feature almost all of the label's start artists: The Haxan Cloak, Evian Christ, Holy Other, Forest Swords, Vessel, MssingNo and Lotic.
Frankie Bones and Adam X will lead a Storm Rave reunion, 22 years after their last rave, at an undisclosed warehouse location on the 16th, leading up two FKA twigs shows at the Brooklyn Hangar the following nights. The festival will also host two nights of Arthur Russell tributes at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on the 29th and 30th, closing out the month with a Sleeping Bag Records-themed Good Room party DJ'd by pioneering hip-hop producer Kurtis Mantronik and disco luminary Nicky Siano.
