  • Delia Gonzalez will release her In Remembrance album via DFA Records on April 28th. Fans of the label will remember Gonzalez from the early days of DFA, when she made the Revelee single and Days Of Mars LP in collaboration with Gavin Russom. Gonzalez hasn't released any new music since 2005. Since then, she's been pursuing a visual art career. In Remembrance was created for a 2010 solo show of the same name held at Galleria Fonti in Naples, and it also factored into a 2012 exhibition called I Must Stop Here. Both shows consisted of 16mm ballet dance films. Gonzalez says: "The music was initially inspired by a text by Henry Miller and a theory by spiritual teacher George Gurdjieff, which states that 'to play scales is to become more in tune with your inner self.'" The music applies the repetition of Gonzalez's work with Russom onto simple piano structures. New York musician Bryce Hackford, who releases solo music on Moshi Moshi offshoot PRAH Recordings, has performed the piece live with Gonzalez, and contributes four remixes to round out the full-length.
