- The young Portland producer's LP will drop in April.
Dylan Stark will release his first LP, Heartland, via Civil Music on April 7th.
Heartland is the first publicly available release from Stark, who created the debut album from a mishmash of thousands of samples. The label says Stark gathered source material "from a multitude of video games, children’s television programmes, Pokemon, Russian YouTube cover versions, trees growing and glaciers retreating" for Heartland's eight tracks. In line with this use of nature recordings, Stark claims to have dwelled on wild themes while creating the dense, melodic tracks, saying he "wanted everything to feel like a parade, like a dense jungle, to give a sort of... joyous feeling coupled with the distant peace that would come to you when listening to a thunderstorm late at night."
Stark will make his live debut at the Surefire Agency Official SXSW Showcase later this week, alongside L-Vis 1990 and Avalon Emerson.
