  • Julianna Barwick will play a free show at The Getty Center on April 25th. The Brooklyn-based Barwick came to popularity in 2011 with her LP The Magic Place, a record which established a sound palette of loop-based ambient music with an emphasis on her own wordless soprano. She's since collaborated with NYC downtown veteran Ikue Mori as part of RVNG Intl.'s FRKWYS series. Check out RA's take on that collaboration here. For the Getty show, she'll collaborate with Los Angeles photographer Matthew Brandt, forming a visual concert which builds on the museum's current exhibition, Light, Paper, Process: Reinventing Photography. The concert is part of Saturday Nights at The Getty, a free concert series situated on the center's picturesque grounds. Complimentary tickets are available here. Check out the video for Barwick's "One Half" below.
