- The two-disc collection showcases the contemporary end of the London label's roster.
Soul Jazz Records will release a two-disc compilation on May 25th called Sounds Of The Universe: Art + Sound 2012-15.
The compilation's first disc contains music that's seen release on Soul Jazz's Sounds Of The Universe sublabel—and, more specifically, its Art + Sound series—including tracks from Andrés, Kassem Mosse, AYBEE, Heatsick, Tevo Howard and Jamal Moss (as Hieroglyphic Being). The Art + Sound 12-inches were pressed in limited editions, with 250 copies available exclusively through the Soul Jazz shop in London, so this is the first time the music is getting a wider release.
The second disc features new, unreleased cuts from the likes of DJ Stingray, Mike Huckaby, Golden Teacher, Africans With Mainframes (AKA Jamal Moss and Noleian Reusse), Capracara and Seven Davis Jr, while LA producer Ras G chips in with three tunes. Sounds Of The Universe: Art + Sound 2012-15 will be presented as a two-disc CD compilation with a booklet. There will also be a digital version and two separate gatefold double-vinyl releases.
