- The Scottish hip-hop producer will release his first full-length in April.
Scottish artist Jaisu will release his an LP through Astral Black on April 27th.
Since dropping his 2013 debut EP A Short Album, the hip-hop beatsmith has racked up a number of notable production credits, including work for The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Danny Brown and others. Now he returns to his solo career for a 12-tracker made entirely with the MPC 2000XL in a classic boom-bap vein. It'll come on vinyl on April 27th and in digital formats on May 4th.
Over at FACT, Jaisu said that the LP tracks "feel like [their] own entity rather than just a rap beat. It’s more influenced by the stuff that’s being sold as dance music, which is probably a subconscious result of playing more club shows since A Short Album and being around different minded peers, learning & growing … but still trying to bridge the gap from the MPC world." You can stream opening tune "Char' below, courtesy of the same publication.
