- The oddball American group will release their debut full-length on Not Not Fun in June.
Beat Detectives will release their first album, Climate Change, via Not Not Fun on June 2nd.
The US trio, fronted by Oakley Tapola, are known for "party tapes" that show off their insouciant takes on house, disco and boogie funk. Previous releases have come on arty US labels like Night People and Moon Glyph, as well as the buzzworthy Vancouver-based imprint 1080p, who issued their somewhat hilariously titled cassette Ass Cop last year. Climate Change's 14 tracks were mastered by fellow Minnesota weirdo Collin Gorman Weiland, who releases records on Karl O'Connor's Downwards label.
