- The run of records will see individual artist EPs paired together on the same piece of vinyl.
patten will start a new EP series called 50/50 on his Kaleidoscope label this month.
"50/50 groups two individual and entirely separate artist EPs on each side of one piece of vinyl," patten told RA. "Unlike the traditional 'split' format, there is no overt curatorial connection intended between the separate sides. Any connections are emergent through chance alone." Side A comes from Vanilla Hammer—that one's called Diss Patches—while Side AA is an EP from the Manchester-based artist Aldous RH. The two EPs will also be available individually in digital format.
We've been told to expect "lots of new series, formats and artists" on Kaleidoscope this year. The label started in 2006 and put out records from the likes of Karen Gwyer and Sculpture before having a fallow year in 2014.
