- Shipwrec will release the Seattle producer's first album since 2002 in June.
Chris Roman will release his next LP as 214, North Bend, on June 23rd.
The Seattle-based producer is a long-time player in the electro world going back to his Esemplastic album in 2002. He had something of a renaissance in 2010, when he began releasing in earnest for labels like Touchin' Bass, Frustrated Funk and Car Crash Set. Around the same time, he launched the J.Alvarez alias for more house and techno-oriented material, including a well-received appearance on La Beauté De Negatif earlier this year.
Roman's first LP since 2002 will come out on Shipwrec, and it's a joint production with Frustrated Funk, who will drop a 214 EP in June. It's said to be inspired by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, named for the Seattle bedroom community where David Lynch's TV series Twin Peaks took place. The album's press release promises "atmospheric techno ambient with scattered beats, lush electro that is filled with true electronic soul and cosmic soundscapes that come from another world," comparing it to acts like ERP, Versalife and Plant43. Check out a teaser for the LP below.
