  • Fis will release his first album, The Blue Quicksand Is Going Now, through Loopy on June 29th. The album follows a string of well-received EPs for labels like Samurai Horo, Exit and Tri Angle dating back to 2011. (In 2013 we profiled the artist, real name Olly Peryman, as part of our Breaking Through series.) The Blue Quicksand Is Going Now will land on Loopy, the same label that recently issued a Fis EP backed by remixes by Kassem Mosse and Oren Ambarchi. It was recorded by Peryman between stints living in Europe and his hometown of Sumner in New Zealand. The label says the LP "moves away from the high-octane experimental D&B productions" of Peryman's earlier work and "towards something that both viciously rips away and cascades with calm."
