- Q-Tip, Snoop Dogg and Ariel Pink feature on Damon G. Riddick's first solo LP since 2009.
Dâm-Funk will drop his next album on September 4th.
Invite The Light is California artist Damon G. Riddick's first album of new solo material since 2009's five-part Toeachizown, but he's certainly kept busy in the meantime. Aside from a collection of archival material called Adolescent Funk, he collaborated with funk legend Steve Arrington on Higher and hooked up with Snoop Dogg on 7 Days Of Funk.
Riddick's usual home Stones Throw will release the new record, which he describes as his first "concise, beginning-to-end vision," and what the label calls a "loosely autobiographical concept album inspired by the trials and tribulations of his personal and professional life of the last six years." Invite The Light features guest spots from the Ohio Players' Junie Morrison, rapper Q-Tip, Snoop Dogg, Kid Sister, Nite Jewel and Ariel Pink. Check out "We Continue" below.
Riddick will also embark on a tour of the US in September, which starts in San Diego on the 4th and wraps up on the 18th in Las Vegas.
