  • Columbus house and techno party Midwest Fresh is turning one next Saturday the 29th. Midwest Fresh has hosted plenty of talent from across the region, and beyond, since its start late last AugustDaniel Bell, Erika, Shawn Rudiman, John Tejada, Titonton Duvante and Olin count among those who've played previously. Sassmouth, the Chicago DJ who's part of the NBFC party crew (and also curates the Planet Chicago night at Smart Bar), will return to help soundtrack the anniversary celebration. Also confirmed is BMG, the Detroit artist who operates the Interdimensional Transmissions label and party (including its new offshoot, Eye Teeth). Residents Tony Fairchild, Brian Kaka and Jed James round out the night's lineup. These days, Midwest Fresh takes place at a DIY warehouse space at 42 W. Jenkins Avenue called Grey Area, which is "in a less residential area where we can get as loud as we want," according to the residents. As usual, the party will go all night with a BYOB policy in effect. Tickets are available on RA.
