Prostitutes and Beau Wanzer hit Detroit

- Both artists are booked for live sets at a day party at Mudgies next weekend.
- Detroit crews We Are All Machines, Crisis Urbana and Nospectacle are throwing a day party on the patio of Mudgies next Sunday, September 6th, on the eve of Labor Day. Running from 2 PM to 10 PM, the event will feature live sets from two out-of-towners from around the Midwest, each with their own out-there take on dance music. Prostitutes, AKA Cleveland's "no trends electronics" artist James Donadio—a recent feature subject here on RA—will bring his noisy, techno-tinted experiments. Also confirmed is Beau Wanzer, a Chicago producer whose roughed-up tracks touch upon techno, EBM, industrial and beyond, and who's also known for his many collaborations, like Civil Duty with Shawn O'Sullivan and Mutant Beat Dance alongside Traxx. (He's also got an album project with Corporate Park in the works.) DJ sets will come courtesy of Community Corporation and Rawaat from Crisis Urbana and Nospectacle's Walter Wasacz, along with We Are All Machines label head Drew Pompa and affiliate Soren, both of whom are residents at the monthly Aphotic Segment night. Food will be available from the local pop-up restaurant Katoi. After the afternoon-into-evening festivities at Mudgies, Pompa and Soren will also host an Aphotic Segment afterparty that night at Nancy Whiskey. Those two will take to the decks, as will "special guest DJs," and as usual for the series, there's no cover. Both events will be open to those 18 and over.
