  • Chris Walla, formerly of Death Cab For Cutie, has a new solo album called Tape Loops coming out on October 16th. Walla, who hails from Washington state, is probably best known as the long-time guitarist and producer for Death Cab For Cutie, the indie rock band that he left last year. Tape Loops is his first work since the departure, and takes a more directly electronic tack. As the title hints, it's a collection of loops made the old-fashioned way: "decaying magnetic tape, finicky machines and razor blades," according to the label. 'I can't change a closed, physical tape loop with a mouse-click or a keystroke, and that’s precisely the point," Walla says. "Digital recording and editing often feels like working in a spreadsheet—it's not always a place for dreams." The album will come via his own Trans Records. You can listen to "Kanta's Theme," and read a new interview with Walla, over at Interview Magazine. Tracklist 01. Kanta's Theme 02. Introductions 03. I Believe In The Night 04. Goodbye 05. Flytoget Trans Records will release Tape Loops on October 18th, 2015.
