  • Roland's latest PLUG-OUT models one of its all-time classic synths. Modeled using their proprietary Analog Circuit Behavior technology, which they say brings the sound and quirks of their hardware to software emulations, the SYSTEM-100 PLUG-OUT combines two modules from the '70s semi-modular system: the Model 101 synthesizer and the Model 102 Expander. Together, the two modules provide two VCOs, two LFOs, sample-and-hold, ring modulation and a noise generator. This digital version also comes with a 14-by-15 routing matrix for easy patching, plus the dual ASDR envelopes and the Scatter effect characteristic of Roland's other AIRA series products. The SYSTEM-100 can work as a standalone plug-in within DAWs or as a PLUG-OUT with knob-per-function control when paired with a SYSTEM-1 or SYSTEM-1m. You can read more about Roland and AIRA in our feature on the synth maker from earlier this year. The SYSTEM-100 PLUG-OUT is now available from Roland.
