Auntie Flo's Theory Of Flo album will land on November 6th via Huntleys + Palmers and Kompakt.
Glasgow artist Brian d'Souza is the man behind the Auntie Flo project. In 2012 he released a self-described mini-album called Future Rhythm Machine. Theory Of Flo is a more expansive affair, with ten tracks recorded over a two-year period in Havana, Glasgow and London. It was made in partnership with South African producer (and fellow Huntleys + Palmers regular) Esa, while Ghanaian singer Anbuley and Shingai Shoniwa of The Noisettes provided the vocals. Guest musicians include Richard Thair of Red Snapper (drums), Hidden Orchestra's Poppy Ackroyd (string arrangements) and a few Cuban musicians Auntie Flo worked with on a 2014 visit to Cuba. The album has its own dedicated website—check it out here.
