Pioneer DJ's RMX-1000 effects unit is coming out as an iOS app.
In its physical form the RMX-1000, which has been around for three years, is made up of a hardware unit, editing software and a VST/AU plug-in. The iPad-ready version offers touchscreen control of the RMX-1000's various effects: Scene FX, Isolate FX, X-PAD FX and Release FX. It gives producers the opportunity to add FX to tracks in their iTunes library, as well as the option to tweak the existing FX to create unique sounds. The iOS app works with the Audiobus app and Inter-App Audio—this allows producers to add FX to music using DAW apps control and record the tracks using one GUI.
The RMX-1000 app is coming out in October from Pioneer DJ for a suggested retail price of $19.99 including VAT.
