  • The minds behind Denver's Great American Techno Festival are taking on a new name, Vicious Circle, to kick off a new event series just outside the city on Friday, December 11th. Vicious Circle is "our post-GATF incarnation," according to John Templeton, who ran the festival for the entirety of its five-year lifespan—GATF 2015, the final edition, went down last month. The new party also serves as a reboot of the Intimate Evening series of smaller shows, which featured artists like Monolake and Rrose. It'll set up shop at Eko House, a private basement space in Englewood, a municipality situated just south of Denver proper. (The venue was used for GATF.) Headlining honors on the 11th go to Marco Shuttle, the London-based Italian DJ and producer who just dropped a reprise of his 2014 cut "Sing Like A Bird." Vicious Circle residents Alala. One and Coward, AKA Templeton and Radere, will take care of local support. After that one, both Shuttle and Coward will fly to New York for The Bunker LTD, on Saturday the 12th, at Trans Pecos. Shuttle, who has no other stateside bookings at the moment, made his US debut at The Bunker back in 2013, and last year he released a record through The Bunker New York. In terms of a Denver-New York connection, GATF 2014 presented a showcase of The Bunker's label arm, and now, for that same imprint, an EP from Coward is in the works. Tickets to The Bunker LTD are available here on RA.
