  • The second term of the Red Bull Music Academy in Paris has been postponed, with organisers saying the November 13th attacks made it "impossible" to continue. The academy's event schedule had been put on hold in the immediate aftermath of the November 13th attacks that left 130 people dead. Now, RBMA has posted a statement on Facebook that reads: "In light of the tragic attacks in Paris on Friday, November 13th, the second term of the Red Bull Music Academy Paris 2015 has been postponed. A large number of artists and international guests were scheduled to come into the city. The devastating events, and the subsequent uncertainty, made this impossible." It continued: "A full, two-week Academy experience will be ensured for all the participants of Term 2—not now, but rather soon. Many of the shows that were planned to take place in Paris on the following days were dependent on the participants and international guests, and thus could not happen in their intended form. For every individual case, long discussions were had with all the collectives, promoters, artists and venues involved and difficult decisions were made, led by the people in Paris that we've been working with for many months. The statement confirmed that a planned Paris Now! show at La Gaîté Lyrique on November 27th will still go ahead. "The event sets out to celebrate the Parisian music scene, showcasing some of the pillars of the local music communities past and present. We're following the lead of said communities by going ahead with this celebration." It's not the first time RBMA has been affected by a major international incident—the 2011 Tokyo edition was called off following a devastating earthquake in Japan.
